  • With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Wanda “Kathy” Peterson, our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on March 6, 2019.

    She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence in Traskwood, AR. She was 64. 

    Kathy was born on a military base in California to the Late E.R. and Evelyn Johnston. She met her husband, Huey at the age of 14 and later married him in June of 1972.  She deserves a halo for these 45 years.

    She is survived by her husband Huey, children Amy (Davey) Tankersley, Cindi Peterson, James (Niki) Tallent and William (Roxanne) Bunt all of Traskwood.  Grandchildren Damon and Matthew Tankersley, Zachary and Grace Reese, Mark, Steven, Austin, Justice Tallent, Ethan White and James, and Kassidy Bunt. Honorary grandchildren Ellie, Tessa,  Willow, Jay, Dawlton, Jaxon, Madison and Jordan. Also survived by a multitude of other family and friends.

    She is proceeded in death by her parents E.R and Evelyn Johnston, brother-in-law Tommy Gateley, father-in-law’s Huey Peterson Sr and Jim Gateley, multiple aunts and uncles and grandparents.

    Visitation will be 4-6 pm Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malvern. Services will be 1:00 pm at Atkinson Chapel on Monday, March 11, 2019. Interment will be at Traskwood Cemetery.

    Lots of love and prayers today and always. She was my sister in law for almost 46 years and my friend for longer. She took such good care of her family and always, they were her #1. We will miss you forever. Rest in love and peace now.
